Conference 2018 Session Proposal Form

3. Session Description (max 500 characters):* Please include a brief overview of what you’ll be covering, and the three main learning outcomes or take-aways for participants. This paragraph will be used in the conference promotional material and is subject to editing by BCNPHA. Please ensure that the description of your session matches your delivery, as delegates choose sessions based on the descriptions in our promotional materials.

4. Target Audience:* Please indicate who would most benefit from attending; check all that apply










5. Participant Experience Level:* Please indicate which level of knowledge and experience participants should have in order to get the most out of the session. We are looking for sessions at each level.



6. Session Format:* Select one of the following options below. Please see the Session Types Glossary for a detailed description of all session formats.





7. Number of Presenters:* Due to the high volume of sessions and presenters, only two presenters maximum are permitted for presentations, workshops and forums. Panel discussions cannot exceed four presenters in total (including moderator). Any changes to presenters outlined in your proposal must be requested to Housing Central at least one month prior to the conference. BCNPHA reserves the right to make presenter selections.

9. Speaker(s) Information: For each speaker, please provide the following information:

Fee and Travel: Housing Central has a limited speaker’s budget. We may be able to compensate session fee and costs, depending on presenter circumstances. Are travel costs a barrier to your participation as a presenter at the conference? If so, please indicate below if compensation is required for you or any other presenters in the sections below.

10. Session Logistics: BCNPHA will contact you regarding audio-visual requirements, room setups and attendee capacities, should your proposal be accepted. Please note that room setups and number of participants in sessions will vary, depending on registration numbers and room availability. Attendee numbers can range from 20 – 200 participants, so please keep your presentation flexible.

11. Housing Tours:

Housing Tours continue to be a popular event at the conference. If you would like to host a site tour, please let us know.

12. Conference Dates and Session Scheduling: Conference Dates and Session Scheduling: Please note that the conference runs from Sunday, November 18 to Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Please hold these three dates in your calendar, as your session may be scheduled on any one of these dates. Housing Central will make the decision on all session dates and timeslots.

13. Back-up Presenter: In developing your session, please have a back-up presenter available who can cover for you in case of unforeseen circumstances, such as illness or travel disruption. BCNPHA reserves the right to cancel sessions due to low registration or other unanticipated circumstances.

15. Proposal Submission Deadline: Deadline for proposals is Friday, March 9, 2018 (5 pm PST). Proponents will be contacted by the end of June 2018 as to acceptance status. We may contact some applicants for clarification regarding their submission prior to acceptance.
