BCNPHA is now accepting proposals to present at the 2023 Housing Central Conference.
Every year, we ask those connected to the non-profit housing sector to consider applying to present at the Housing Central Conference. These proposals range widely in topic, but generally relate to the leadership, operations, and maintenance of non-profit housing organizations and buildings, as well as other issues relevant to the affordable housing sector.
Many presenters work in the non-profit housing sector and share expertise they have gained through hands on experience and/or research. Other presenters are brought in to share their expertise from other fields. We encourage session proposals from across a range of sectors, including non-profits, government, academia and the private sector.
Across all topic areas, we especially value perspectives of people with lived experience. Including tenants in conversations about tenant relocation or community building between tenants in social housing is a prime example. This applies across the board to many of the topics that we feature in our learning events, and as such, we view proposals that feature people with lived experience highly.
New Breakout Session Formats for 2023
This year, BCNPHA is introducing new formats for breakout sessions. Breakout sessions may take many forms, but we encourage proposals to be organized to fall into one of three categories: (1) Stakeholder Engagement/Affinity Group Roundtables, (2) Interactive Workshops, and (3) Panel Presentations. For more information on these breakout session categories, please review the call for proposals.
Questions: Do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions around the call for proposals process. We’re happy to answer questions and advise you on best practices for proposal submission. Our Education Projects Coordinator, Jackson, can be contacted directly at jackson@bcnpha.ca.
