Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions – Substance Use Framework Consultation

Non-profit housing providers are being asked to provide their input into a new framework that will improve the adult substance use system of care.

As part of the Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions’ A Pathway to Hope: A Roadmap for Making Mental Health and Addictions Care Better for People in British Columbia, one of the priority actions is to develop a new policy framework for the substance use system of care. This framework will clarify what services are part of the substance use system of care, look at the current gaps and challenges, and make recommendations to improve integration, coordination, and accessibility.

The ministry would like to connect with members of the BC Non-profit Housing Association to better understand the ways that housing needs intersect with substance use. Please join this virtual session to discuss the substance use system of care and help improve services so that individuals can move smoothly between different services to meet their changing needs and circumstances while still maintaining a connection to care.

Discussion questions will be shared in advance to support and guide the conversation.

Please let us know if you require any additional accommodations or supports to participate in a virtual session.
