Are you interested in learning communication for effective and authentic stakeholder engagement? IAP2 Training will provide you with the tools needed to move your projects forward in a timely, cost-effective way. Learn how to apply the elements of successful engagement planning, ensuring dialogue is positive, respectful and productive, by participating in our IAP2 Foundations in Public Participation program.
The training is particularly relevant for anyone in the non-profit housing sector that is leading any internal or external engagement initiatives, and who needs to develop positive and supportive relationships with their tenants, neighbours and the wider community.
The course will be customized with content, guest speakers and case studies from the non-profit housing sector, using participants’ examples. While the course focuses on supporting non-profits who are embarking on new developments, the skills and knowledge apply across all engagement initiatives.
Participants will learn a proven structure that will greatly increase the odds of a successful public participation and planning. Participants will also get the opportunity to learn and practice specific engagement techniques and how to align these to the engagement outcomes.
At the end of this training, participants will receive a certificate issued by the IAP2 International Federation.

The registration deadline is September 10, 2021 at 5pm.
This is a highly-subsidized course. Once payment is made, it is non-refundable, unless a substitute from the organization is found.
“This training was instrumental in being able to reflect on our organizations current engagement practices and begin the work of identifying new best practices for the future”
– Participant in BCNPHA’s 2020 IAP2 course
“I would highly recommend the training to others. It has provided me with skills to use in my daily life when working with colleagues and other community/government organizations. It has provided me with a deeper understanding and skill set with how to engage using a collaborative approach vs engaging in an oppositional/antagonistic one.”
