The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program consists of five online operations and maintenance courses.

Each course includes discussion forums, checks for understanding and take-back-to-work tools that can be used right away. Each course is designed to be interactive and focuses on all aspects of building operations and maintenance with a special focus on energy management.

O&M courses can be taken individually in any order; however, participants will gain the most by taking the entire program in the order presented below. Most of the courses can be completed in 6-8 weeks but we allow for a full three months to accommodate busy schedules.

Courses are offered online through HousingU, BCNPHA’s online learning platform. Funding for the program development was provided by FortisBC.

What are the program goals?

The overall goal of the O&M program is to help housing providers operate and maintain affordable housing in a safe, cost effective and energy efficient manner. By the end of the program participants will have created a customized, integrated operations and maintenance plan, designed specifically for their facilities

Who is this program for?

This program will benefit those just entering the non-profit operations and maintenance profession as well as seasoned non-profit sector employees interested in creating living spaces that run more economically and efficiently.
