BC’s non-profit housing plays a vital role in providing safe, secure, and affordable homes to tens of thousands of residents. Despite aging building assets, the sector is being called upon to contribute to provincial and federal climate goals.
BC Non-Profit Housing Association (BCNPHA), in consultation with housing societies, utilities, and government funders, has prepared a Strategic Energy Management Plan (SEMP) for BC’s non-profit housing sector. This SEMP offers a coordinated, sector-wide framework, targets, and implementation roadmap to help BC’s housing societies advance sustainability goals, improve building performance, and contribute to provincial non-profit and federal emissions reduction targets.
