Motivation, Power & Achievement (MPA) Society successfully completed an energy retrofit of one of its group homes. The project replaced its gas systems with high-efficiency heat pumps for space heating and domestic hot water – delivering cooling for the first time. Additional upgrades included high-performance windows, enhanced attic insulation for improved comfort and resilience, and Energy Star bathrooms fans to reduce energy use and improve ventilation and indoor air quality.
The project resulted in 98% emissions reductions, 66% energy savings, and approximately $1,220 in annual utility cost savings, all while preserving affordable housing for vulnerable tenants.
