Truly authentic engagement is an essential component of work in the non-profit housing sector. Whether you’re connecting with long-time partners on an ongoing project, expanding your reach for an innovative housing development or embarking on wider community consultation for your new housing proposal, effective engagement is the cornerstone of your project’s success. In this 90-minute session, staff at all levels of your organization will learn how to undertake community and partner engagement at the community and system level. Participants will come away with an understanding of when and why to engage, as well as the promises of engagement and the strategic dos and don’ts for authentic engagement.

Jessica is a seasoned engagement and communications professional with nearly 20 years of experience working with government, private and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining the family business in 2012, she served in senior communications roles with two BC municipalities. Thanks to these experiences and her consulting experiences supporting clients in the municipal, health and housing sectors, Jessica has developed a solid understanding of government, engagement, and strategic planning. She is adept at bringing diverse perspectives together for productive and collaborative engagement.
Jessica is a Certified Public Participation Professional (CP3), a Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF), and a licensed iap2 trainer. She loves living in Lake Country in the Central Okanagan, with her husband and two young children, and enjoys all the region has to offer.
