Program Description

An Overview

Join us for the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Standard course, offered in collaboration with Opening Minds and the Mental Health Commission of Canada.

This full-day virtual session (9:00 AM – 4:30 PM PST) will teach participants how to recognize signs of declining mental well-being and how to provide essential support during a mental health crisis using MHFA actions. Through interactive activities in a virtual classroom, you’ll develop practical skills to assist those in need.

  • Early registration is encouraged as capacity for this session is limited to 15 participants.
  • The deadline to register is October 2, 2024 – 3:00 PM
  • BCNPHA members receive a special discount of $80!
  • Receive the MHFA Standard certificate upon successful completion.

Course Structure

Module 1:
Self-Directed (2 Hours)

An introductory module that lays the foundation of MHFA actions

Module 2: Live
Classroom (3.5 hours)

Focuses on applying MHFA actions in scenarios of declining mental well-being and adapting conversations for diverse groups

Module 3: Live
Classroom (3.5 hours)

Enhances skills in crisis managementå and highlights the importance of self-care

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
