Welcome to the fourth session in the BC Non-Profit Housing Climate & Disaster Resilience Webinar Series! Join us monthly May through October for sessions with sector leaders and relevant conversations on how the non-profit housing sector can navigate and respond to various topics in Climate and Disaster response.
Communities across BC are working to build new housing and retrofit current housing fast—but it must be designed to last. In this Skills Lab, bring your actual housing projects to the table, and learn how to leverage the free Climate Insight platform to move them forward while considering climate change. Meet with experts from ICLEI Canada to work through questions and challenges related to your projects, and see how you can use free resources to make your work easier.
We will begin by exploring how Climate Insight can be used to support non-profit housing projects, before diving into projects submitted by participants. Be sure to submit a project when you register to receive expert guidance and tips for it. You can also check out ClimateInsight.ca in preparation for this session. Senior Strategic Advisor, Sustainability and Resilience, BC Housing
Jessica Fell is a Senior Strategic Advisor for Sustainability and Resilience at BC Housing, where she leads the sustainability strategy update and advances portfolio-level climate risk. Her work focuses on integrating climate risk and resilience into core business decisions across strategy, operations, and risk management. She brings cross-sector experience across private and public sectors, including water stewardship, and holds a PhD in strategic decision analysis for Nature-Based Solutions.
Engineering Director, ICLEI Canada
Josh is a driven climate action and sustainability professional with a breadth of experience in local government asset management, project management, climate action, and sustainability. He has spent over 6 years with a local government in a variety of roles gaining hands-on experience with almost every aspect of municipal infrastructure management and was responsible for leading updates to various climate action plans and associated mitigation and adaptation implementation projects. Josh has also gained valuable forest industry experience and has come to understand the potential for low-carbon building products as an important piece of the climate action puzzle.
