Teoni Spathelfer is a member of the Heiltsuk First Nation of British Columbia. Her experiences as a radio and print journalist have positively influenced her passion for storytelling!Throughout her life, she has loved learning about First Nations culture and about international cultures. This is something she has shared with her daughters and grandchildren and has lead her to help protect the human rights of vulnerable persons and communities.Teoni has been on a mission to share information and stories for most of her life. Her CBC National Radio documentary called “Teoni’s Dream” is about how her Mother’s residential school experience touched her family’s life. The doc came to be, after “Fire Woman” a healer of souls landed in her dreams.Teoni shares her Mother’s stories, so her voice will be heard across the ages and as proof her life mattered; even though the residential school system insisted all children were just numbers.Teoni presents information in an honest, professional and inspiring way for all age groups. She believes we all have stories to share and that through this ancient form of communication we can all learn from one another.
