Martha Rans is the founder and legal director of the Pacific Legal Education and Outreach Society (PLEO), empowering non-profits in Canada to access justice efficiently, effectively, and equitably since 2005. Under her leadership, PLEO launched LawForNonProfits.ca, a low-barrier digital platform providing free and reliable legal information to non-profits. Martha has served the non-profit and arts sectors for over 25 years. As an advocate for public legal education and information, she advises on charity law, incorporation, governance, privacy, employment, labour, health and safety, and human rights.
