BC Indigenous Housing Society provides safe and affordable housing for Indigenous individuals and families.

Purpose

Recognition is important.

This year’s award recognizes a non-profit housing provider demonstrating commitment to innovation across services and/or new housing developments.

 

Eligibility

How to get nominated.

The organization must be a BCNPHA non-profit housing member in good standing.
The committee will notify the recipient by September 2025.

Award Criteria

How does an organization qualify?

Applications will be scored in the following areas:

A demonstrated organizational commitment to exploring new ways to deliver affordable housing across British Columbia.

Evidence of innovation in residential service, partnerships, and new building design or construction.

Two letters of support from outside the nominated non-profit housing society.

We have a responsibility to make this Earth better for future generations. This is a testament to the staff and the work they do, every day.

Nomination Process

How it works. 

BCNPHA members who are non-profit housing providers may nominate their — or another — organization. The Awards Committee will review nominees throughout the year.

 

Nomination Deadline

May 16, 2025

The BCNPHA Awards Committee will review nominees throughout the nomination period and contact the nominator if the nominee meets eligibility criteria.

Deadline for applications is May 16, 2025.

Please answer the following questions and keep your responses for each section to 500 words or less.
Describe your organization’s commitment to exploring new ways of delivering affordable housing and/or services to people in B.C. (max 500 words)
Describe a specific innovative approach in either services, partnership or new building design and construction, and the impact it had. (max 500 words)
Describe any challenges or barriers you faced in implementing your innovative services or designs, and how you overcame those challenges. (max 500 words)

References

List two individuals (outside the staff or board members of the organization being nominated) who can attest to your organization’s achievements. BCNPHA staff and Board members cannot act as references.
