In addition to a week-long program about the essential elements of successful engagement planning – IAP2 Foundations in Public Participation (five days), BCNPHA is hosting the IAP2 Public Participation for Decision Makers Seminar on May 2, 2019.
This four-hour evening seminar is for Executive Directors and senior managers from non-profit housing organizations who cannot attend the full-week course.
Explore the foundations of authentic engagement from a decision maker’s point of view and learn how public participation can be integrated into the overall project plan. Participants will understand the costs and benefits of public participation and discuss both; why and why not to involve the public in an organizational decision; and, the importance of the commitment to the public when you decide to involve them in the decision process.
