BCNPHA has developed 11 self-serve online modules. These courses can be accessed from anywhere, day or evening, and are 30 days in length. Go at your own pace during a time that best suits you. Participants will leave with a certificate of completion upon a 70% passing grade, and plenty of take away resources!

Cost per module: $39 plus GST for BCNPHA members; $59 plus GST for non-members. No volume discounts.

ASSET MANAGEMENT FOUNDATIONS - This module introduces terms, ideas and common practices that form the foundation of asset management and building operations and maintenance. This curriculum has been developed in Partnership with FortisBC.

Board Governance Basics* - This module is designed to provide you with the fundamentals of non-profit board governance, and will help you understand your role and responsibilities as a board member.

Board Relationships* - This module is designed to get you thinking about your own role as a board member, your interactions with your board, and your relationship with your Senior Manager.

Board Structure and Operating Procedures* - This module is designed to get you thinking about the structure of your board and how you conduct board business.

Building Board Capacity* - This module is designed to get you thinking about how you can best develop you board through board composition, recruitment, retention and of course board evaluation.

Introduction to Partnerships* - This module will introduce you to the fundamentals of partnerships including defining terms - like collaboration, cooperation and partnership - and legal consideration.

Preparing for Partnerships* - This module is a critical step towards making sure you are well informed and able to take on a partnership process.

Identifying Potential Partnerships* - In this module, we begin proactively looking for potential partners.

Negotiating and Formalizing Partnerships* - This module explores the steps in negotiating a partnership.

Measuring and Maintaining Partnerships* - This module aims you with the knowledge and skills you'll need to tend and grow your partnership.

HARM REDUCTION - This module focuses on Harm Reduction practices and policies that relate to substance use. The curriculum has been developed with the assistance of the BC Centre for Disease Control who provided many of the resources used in the module.
