Challenges to Affordable and Sustainable Housing Symposium

Registration is now open for The School of Community and Regional Planning (SCARP) upcoming symposium: “Challenges to Affordable and Sustainable Housing.” Developed In collaboration with MITACS, BC Non-Profit Housing Association (BCNPHA) and the BC Government, the program features panels and workshops with speakers from a variety of backgrounds – academic, and the public, private and non-profit sectors — presenting on effective housing policies and strategies to address affordability and homelessness, emerging housing needs, and the link between sustainability and affordability. The aim of the symposium is to provide a forum for the much needed debate on housing provision in British Columbia.

The symposium will take place from 8:30am to 6:00 pm on Friday, October 16th. A preliminary program of events, including further information on each of our panel presentations, can be found by clicking on BCNPHA’s Community Events webpage.

Early bird Symposium registration deadline: October 7, 2009.

Registration rates: $25 for students and retired persons, $50 for non-profits and $100 for practitioners and academics. You are encouraged to circulate this invitation to other interested colleagues and students.
