BCNPHA Board Governance Sessions

Are you a newly appointed board member? Or are you an experienced board member looking for a refresher?

BCNPHA has two options for you!


BCNPHA’s online Board Governance course includes up-to-date information that all non-profit board members are required to know, as well as sections on relationship building, communications and the new Societies Act.

This 32-hour, self-paced, online course has been designed to meet the learning needs of those who are new or aspiring to non-profit governance, and for those with experience in need of a refresher. Participants who successfully complete this course will be armed with all the knowledge and tools needed to effectively govern an affordable housing society. Visit  for more course details.

An introduction to our Board Governance course, Strengthening Your Board, will be offered in person at the Housing Central conference on Sunday, November 19. Attendees of this session will receive a 25% discount off the Board Governance online course (winter 2018 intake)! Registration for this session will be available when conference registration opens late Summer 2017.

Both sessions are facilitated by Marsha Goldford, Director, Training & Development/Independent Consultant. Marsha has been in the housing field since 1985 and is a regular consultant for BCNPHA. In her 20 years in BC, 18 have been spent serving on various non-profit housing boards, including BCNPHA.
