BC Housing, in partnership with BCNPHA, is offering presentations on Fire Safety to all provincially funded, non-profit housing providers. There is no fee to attend the sessions. Travel costs and other related expenses are the responsibility of the society.
All staff have a responsibility to report fire safety issues and unsafe fire safety conditions. This session provides information on fire safety including high level legislated requirements, the process and content of a Fire Safety Plan, and the inspection, testing and maintenance requirements at a property. The presentation includes instruction on how to plan for and execute a successful fire drill, and how to perform the emergency response to a fire.
In the comprehensive three hour session participants will learn:
- how to plan for and execute a successful fire drill
- how to perform the emergency response to a fire
- process and content of a Fire Safety Plan
- high-level legislated requirements
- testing and maintenance requirements
