FOAM 106 is a 8 week introductory level course (24 hours) that focuses on the process of Capital Planning. This course is for O&M staff and decision-makers new to Capital Planning. Participants will learn how to read, maintain and update a Capital Plan as part of this course. FOAM 106 can be completed in 4 weeks; however, participants have up to 8 weeks to complete.

Capital Planning for Maintenance Providers | Building Condition Assessment (BCA) | Creating a Capital Plan from a BCA | Using the Capital Plan | Final Project

What you'll learn

By the end of FOAM 106 successful participants will able to:

  • Read, use and update a Capital Plan
  • Describe and support data gathering for a BCA
  • Bundle projects
  • Describe how Capital Funding fits in the Capital Plan

Time commitment

Approximately 24 hours over 8 weeks.

Prerequisites

This is an introductory level course with no prerequisites other than what is noted below.

This is an online course and participants must have basic computer skills and have regular access to a computer with MS Office 2010 or later and a modern, safe browser. We recommend Chrome; however, any updated browser will work. Templates used in this course may require MS Excel, MS Word and .pdf reader. This course is provided in English and requires reading and writing at a grade 8 level.

Cost

$139 + GST for members $209 + GST for non-members
