Registration is now closed. For regular course updates and 2019 scheduling, please subscribe to our e-news, or contact firstname.lastname@example.org
The FLO course is a research-based, experiential online learning course. Through reading, discussing and doing, participants will learn concepts, principles and strategies that ensure online facilitating is fun and effective. FLO builds on the central principles of expert face-to-face facilitation.
FLO will help you build skills needed to confidently and effectively facilitate online learning. It is designed to provide you with:
- The experience of being in the students’ shoes;
- The opportunity to think about, practice and develop your online facilitation skills with other new and experienced online facilitators; and
- The opportunity to deepen your learning as you synthesize your observations, reading and online activities in your journal.
Royal Roads University developed the FLO curriculum as an open educational resource (OER) based on the Instructional Skills Workshop. In addition to Royal Roads University, BC Campus – SCoPE has implemented FLO training, providing it to faculty and staff from post-secondary institutions across the province.
The version of FLO offered by BCNPHA builds on this solid foundation of well researched and time-tested curriculum to provide online facilitation training crafted specifically for our courses and our members.
